A 16-year-old died in a traffic accident in Burgdorf near Hannover. According to the police, the girl was traveling by bicycle when it was hit by a right-turning truck and mortally wounded.
After first findings, the cyclist waited in the morning at a crossroads in front of a red traffic light. When the traffic light turned green for her, she drove straight on towards the crossroads where a truck waiting beside her turned right. According to police, the 50-year-old driver apparently did not notice the girl on the bike.
Passers-by immediately provided first aid. Resuscitation attempts of the alerted rescue forces were unsuccessful. The 16-year-old died at the scene of the accident near a school.
