A 33-year-old snowboarder from Bavaria died on Tuesday in Obergurgl, Austria. According to the alpine police, the woman triggered a 400 meter wide slab during a tour with her brother in the unsecured terrain at an altitude of around 2500 meters.

While the brother was able to drive out of the danger area, the 33-year-old was spilled. After a total of 35 minutes, the task forces were able to recover only half a meter of their dead.

There was considerable danger of avalanches in the area after heavy snow fall. Obergurgl is located in the district of Imst in Tyrol.
