The US aviation giant Boeing has been sued by relatives of a death victim after the plane crash in Ethiopia. The prosecutors seek compensation for an alleged defect in the Type 737 Max 8 machine. This is clear from the petition filed with the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Accordingly, the relatives of a Rwandan citizen who had died in the plane crash complained. The lawsuit alleges that Boeing has misrepresented the model 737 Max 8 automated flight control system. An opinion from Boeing was initially not available. The group is after the crash, in which a total of 157 people were killed, massively in the criticism.

Software update So Boeing wants to make the 737 Max safer

By the end of October, an identical aircraft had already crashed in Indonesia, and a number of lawsuits followed. According to accident investigators, a controversial Boeing control software played a crucial role in the crash in Indonesia. The on-board computer is said to have pushed the nose of the jet automatically down again and again, while the crew tried in vain to countersteer. In the recent crash in Ethiopia, the software is also considered as a possible cause. In the two crashes, a total of 346 people died.
