Tunisia launched the 20th edition of "Carthage Theater Days" last night at the Opera Theater in the City of Culture, in the presence of a number of Arab and African playwrights. In its first scene, the festival celebrated artists who contributed to enriching the theater with their works and writings, including the Emirati playwright Abdullah Rashed.

The opening included performances and performances on the opera stage, as well as circus and music performances on Habib Bourguiba, the most famous street in Tunis.

In his opening speech, Minister of Culture Mohamed Zine El Abidine said that the celebration of the 20th Carthage Theater Festival was "a proud event, but at the same time it gives serious consideration to many legislative, organizational and institutional reforms, as well as the necessary revisions in the policy of Public support ».

The new session presents the theme of "The Memory of the Festival". Tunisian playwrights presented an improvisational presentation of the most important Tunisian theater stations entitled "Tunisian Dramas Remember", in which Raouf Ben Omar, Zahira Ben Ammar, Jamila Shehhi, Atef Ben Hussein, Abdelaziz Al Mahrazi, Dridi. The festival was also honored by a group of artists who contributed to enriching the theater with their works and writings. They were Sabah Bouzouita, Latifa Al-Khafafi, Dalila Miftahi, Mansour Al-Saghir, Saber Al-Hami, Bahri Al Rahali from Tunisia, Abdullah Rashed from the UAE, Khaled Al-Turifi from Jordan, Hassan Kouyati from Burkina Faso, Karamara from Rwanda. The ceremony ended with poetry readings by Palestinians Marid Barghouthi and Tamim Barghouthi as part of the celebration of Palestine as a guest of honor for the 20th session. The new course, which runs until December 16, offers 117 plays from 39 countries.

For his role in the play "Ya Lail Ma Maulak", Abdullah Rashed was awarded the Jury Prize for Best Actor in the Carthage Theater Days in 2001, and this year he is among the festival's celebrants.
