"On the Ebeko volcano (altitude 1156 m, located 7 km from the city of Severo-Kurilsk, in the northern part of the Vernadsky ridge), ash was emitted to an altitude of 4.5 km," the department said.

It is reported that as a result of the ejection, the plume spread to the northeast direction from the volcano to a distance of up to 5 km.

The ministry noted that no ashfall was registered in the city of Severo-Kurilsk and there was no smell of hydrogen sulfide.

“There are no threats to the vital activity of the population,” added the GUMChS region.

On October 30, Ebeko volcano threw a column of ash to a height of up to three kilometers above sea level.
