More than 200,000 volunteers have registered to participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Japanese capital Tokyo.
The Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee confirmed that 64 percent of potential volunteers were women.
The Japanese authorities were looking for 80,000 volunteer applications through the electronic service, which was launched, but more than twice that number to volunteer.
Volunteers receive clothing, food, insurance, accommodation and tickets.
The Tokyo Olympics will kick off on July 24, 2020, and run until August 9.
