November 22, 2017, Russian opera singer Dmitry Hvorostovsky died after a long illness. The famous baritone performed at major world venues: in the Mariinsky Theater, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Covent Garden. In 2015, the singer was diagnosed with a brain tumor, however, despite the disease, he continued to go on stage. The name of Hvorostovsky was given to the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater, where the artist began his career. “His voice of incomparable beauty and unsurpassed artistry touched the souls of millions of music lovers,” said Spanish tenor Placido Domingo about the Russian singer.
