Twitter warned its users to become a victim of a hoax that calls on users to change their date of birth to 2007, the year Twitter was officially launched, in order to receive benefits and rewards, according to Sky News.

The trick has enticed many users to get new colors for their accounts on Twitter, or even get $ 20 in cash, according to technology sites.

The trick has already closed many accounts on Twitter, where the site requires the user to be over 13 years old to be able to open an account.

Changing the date of birth to 2007 means simply turning off the account automatically.

Twitter advised the victims of the hoax to communicate with the support service, and provide copies of official documents to re-activate their accounts.
