Four people from the same family were indicted after the death of a 9-year-old boy in Mulhouse on the night of 16 to 17 September. According to the prosecutor's office, he was punished and beaten because he refused to do his homework. The autopsy carried out on the body of the child had revealed that he was probably dead because of the violence of the blows received.

The suspects have been held in custody, announced Thursday the prosecutor of Mulhouse Edwige Roux-Morizot.

The brother and sister of the child, young adults, were indicted for intentional violence resulting in death without intention to give her, the mother for complicity and the sister-in-law for non-assistance to person in danger and not denunciation of crime, said the prosecutor. They were arrested Wednesday, November 21 and placed in custody.
