Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili called for the remodeling of the memorial dedicated to the Great Patriotic War in Tbilisi. She argues that the memorial needs to be redone so that "together with The Second World War, it unites all our battles, all those people who fought for the independence of this country" In January, the Georgian president said she was opposed to the resumption of flights to Russia.

She added that she does not lose hope that her initiative will be implemented.
