Zeng Maochao passed away in Beijing on the evening of March 4 at the age of 92 due to ineffective treatment. He was one of the founders of the field of computer magnetic recording in China.
He has served as deputy leader of the Electronic Computer Advisory Group of the State Council's Electronic Promotion Leading Group and executive vice chairman of the Computer Society of China. The obituary stated that ZengMaochao's death was a huge loss to the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Lenovo.
