[HIGHLIGHTS] Zatulin called popularity among citizens the main reason for Zaluzhny’s resignation

Valery Zaluzhny resigned as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 8. Konstantin Zatulin, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, said popularity among citizens was the main reason for his resignation.

“In any case, it was necessary to find a scapegoat,” the deputy added. On February 8, Zelensky announced that Syrsky had been appointed commander- in-chief.
