"Global Central Kitchen" is a non-governmental organization based in the United States. The organization was founded by Chef José Andrés (a Hispanic American) and his wife, Patricia, in 2010 following a major earthquake in Haiti.
It has since expanded to provide resilience training and provide meals and support to survivors of other natural disasters. Tens of millions of meals have been provided in Ukraine since the Russian war began in 2022. A second shipment from the organization carrying 332 tons of food is expected to arrive in Gaza this week.
