The World Central Kitchen organization announced that citizens of Australia, Britain and Poland were among seven of its employees who were killed in an Israeli air strike in the central Gaza Strip yesterday, Monday.

The organization was founded by Chef José Andrés (a Hispanic American) and his wife, Patricia, in 2010 following a major earthquake in Haiti, to begin providing emergency food aid to survivors.
The organization has since expanded to provide resilience training and provide meals and support to survivors of other natural disasters, as well as refugees and those affected by conflict.
Tens of millions of meals have been provided in Ukraine since the Russian war began in 2022.
It participated in the first aid shipment sent via a sea corridor from Cyprus to the Gaza Strip in March. A second shipment from the organization carrying 332 tons of food is expected to arrive in Gaza this week.
The organization's founder, Chef Andrés, is a Spanish-American restaurateur and cookbook author whose new and innovative culinary restaurant, located in Washington, D.C., has received two stars in the three-star Michelin rating for culinary excellence.
He also received the National Humanities Medal, which was presented to him by former US President Barack Obama in 2015.
