Nigeria reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations by defeating South Africa 4-2 on penalties (regular and extra time 1-1) at the Al Salam Stadium in Bouaké in the semi-finals. The Premier Eagles will meet in the final next Sunday in Abidjan, with the host Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nigeria owes its qualification to the eighth final in its history to its South African and Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabili, who saved two penalty kicks.
