Ukrainian government officials learn how to dispose of debris in Higashimatsushima, Miyagi. Officials were invited to Japan by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) to support the recovery of Ukraine.
Mayor Iwao Atsumi gave his speech by saying, 'I feel that the situation in Ukraine is similar to the situation suffered by the tsunami' The amount of debris generated in Higashi Matsushima City amounted to approximately 1.09 million tons, equivalent to 110 years of municipal waste.
