The Algiers Mosque, which is the third largest mosque in the world, hosted its first Friday prayer today. Tens of thousands of citizens prayed behind the mosque’s preacher, Sheikh Muhammad Maamoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani.

Last Sunday, the Algerian President inaugurated the huge mosque, which can accommodate a total of more than 120,000 worshipers. The mosque includes a Qur’an house, research centers, and a library containing one million books.
