The Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity East Intercity Shield is launched and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao intercity transportation network is accelerated. The shield tunnel passes through muddy siltstone, gravelly clay soil, silty clay, limestone, and marble.

The main line is about 58.9 kilometers long (52.836 kilometers in Shenzhen City and 6.024 kilometers in Dongguan City) The designed speed of the line is 160 kilometers per hour, and there are 11 underground stations along the entire line.
