Russian Foreign Ministry says there are no plans for a peace treaty with Japan. Russia has been in talks with Japan on a possible peace treaty for more than a year.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the talks are not in a position to continue. The talks are being held to resolve the dispute over the sovereignty of the Kuril Islands, which are part of the Russian territory. The Japanese government has said that it will continue to work with Russia on the issue of the disputed islands, which it calls a ‘provocation’
