The U.S. is beginning to evacuate its citizens from Haiti. Earlier, armed men attacked several government buildings in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, including the presidential palace. The diplomatic mission emphasized that they are in contact with it regarding possible assistance in the evacuation. It was also reported that the Russian ambassador to Venezuela and part-time to Haiti, Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov, was in Haiti on Monday.
