Jönköping City Council voted in favour of a new swimming pool in September 2021. In April, the Moderates reversed the bathhouse issue and sealed a private player as construction and operation manager for the new bathhouse.
Now the governing parties in the municipality agree that the proposal will be voted down as they want to start from the first decision. The vote will take place on 21 June, with the result to be announced on 28 June. The construction had been estimated at a cost of SEK 884 million. At the beginning of the year, a new announcement came that the price had risen to SEK 1.1 billion.
