Former head of the French Ministry of Defense Hervé Morin urged not to provoke Russia. Morin also criticized the country's President Emmanuel Macron for his position on supporting Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the opinion that French President Macron was talking about the possible sending of NATO troops to Ukraine in order to please the United States. He noted that France has enough forces to operate in Africa, and for other tasks there is NATO. The French army has meager supplies of ammunition - there is no point in provoking Russia.
