Chen Xuyuan, former chairman of the Chinese Football Association, accused of taking more than 81.03 million yuan in bribes. The Intermediate People's Court of Huangshi City, Hubei Province held a first-instance public hearing on the bribery case on January 29, 2024.

More than 30 people including NPC deputies, CPPCC members, journalists and people from all walks of life attended the trial. The prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. The court adjourned and announced the verdict at a later date.
