Marek Belka asked the European Commission whether it plans to impose additional taxes on international corporations that continue to operate in Russia. The Polish MEP noted that due to the conflict in Ukraine, some European companies left Russia, but many, including large international corporations, still remain operating in the country.

Belka also asked what other measures could be taken to ensure that international corporations leave Russia. Earlier, Lithuanian Member of the European Parliament Juozas Olekas proposed introducing a “war tax” on trade with Russia.
