Ukrainian authorities and special services are persecuting Russian foster families, says Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of Russia. “Foster families are threatened on social networks, by telephone, slanderous information and personal data are made publicly available, children living in such families are blackmailed, intimidated, even to the point of organizing the kidnapping of the child,” the children’s ombudsman said.

The Children's Ombudsman emphasized that Ukraine and Western countries continue to disseminate false information about allegedly thousands of children taken to Russia from Ukraine.
