The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff named the priorities of the organization. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said that the republic would prescribe in its military doctrine the actions of Minsk in the event of armed aggression against its allies.
In November 2023, the head of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu said that a unified air defense system with CSTO member countries had actually been created. According to him, it was formed after Russia concluded relevant bilateral agreements with each of the states of the association.
