The Swisstech Medical Research Institute was completed in 1935 and is an important place for modern medical research in China. The Physiology Branch, the Pathology Branch and the Clinical Research and Experimental Surgery Division have been set up in the building.

Henry Rushed to Shanghai in the 19s of the 60th century, was one of the first foreign architects to enter Shanghai, and since then, has become a famous figure in the real estate industry. In the future, on the basis of protecting the cultural heritage of historical buildings, the NVC Medical Research institute will be renovated.
