The Polish government wants to expand the possibilities of "effectively influencing modern terrorist threats" The bill would allow the military to respond to threats associated with attacks on the energy infrastructure that is located at sea. At the beginning of November last year, the gas receiving terminal of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline in Denmark was put into operation.

The decision is intended only for exceptional situations, according to the Cabinet of Ministers. The bill was passed by the Polish parliament with a vote of 98-0. It is expected that the bill will be signed into law by the end of the year.
