Turkey handed over the keys to newly completed homes to thousands of whose homes were destroyed after the devastating earthquake of February 6, 2023 in the south of the country. The strong earthquakes that occurred in southern Turkey killed more than 50,000 people in 11 provinces and displaced millions.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a ceremony in Hatay, the province most affected by the earthquakes, “Today, we hand over 7,275 homes in Hatays... We will gradually hand over 40,000 homes throughout the region once their construction is completed”
