Sweden decides to join NATO, expands to 32 countries, further strengthens security. The Hungarian parliament has approved Sweden's accession to NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).

All member states have now approved. Sweden and neighboring Finland changed their long-standing policy of military neutrality and applied for membership in NATO in May of last year. Although Finland's membership was achieved in April last year, Sweden's application was not approved by Turkey and Hungary even after more than a year and a half, making it difficult for Sweden to join.
