Hungary's parliament has approved Sweden's membership in NATO.

This means that all member states have approved, and NATO will expand to 32 countries after Russia's military invasion, further strengthening its security.

On the 26th, Hungary's parliament approved Sweden's membership in NATO by a majority vote.

Following Turkey's approval last month, Sweden has now been approved by all NATO member states, and will become the 32nd member state after going through the necessary procedures.

In response to Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, Sweden and neighboring Finland changed their long-standing policy of military neutrality and applied for membership in NATO in May of last year.

Although Finland's membership was achieved in April last year, Sweden's application was not approved by Turkey and Hungary even after more than a year and a half, making it difficult for Sweden to join.

Following the approval, Swedish Prime Minister Kristässon held a press conference on the 26th, calling it a historic moment, saying, ``We are saying goodbye to 200 years of neutrality and non-alignment and taking a big step.'' .

He expressed his determination, saying, ``We don't just want security, we want to provide it. Sweden will contribute with its own defense capabilities on land, sea, air, and underwater.''

After the invasion by Russia, NATO expanded to 32 countries with the addition of Finland and Sweden, and the strategically important Baltic Sea will be surrounded by member countries in order to deal with Russia, resulting in security issues. It will be further strengthened.
