According to a CSA survey for Europe 1, CNews and "Le Journal du Dimanche", 41% of French people surveyed consider that conditions of detention in prisons must be toughened. 35% also consider that it is necessary to strengthen the police force in the Marseille city.

28% of respondents think that the army should be involved, and 27% that drug users should be punished more severely. The political divide is also felt on certain proposals. Left-wing voters are less in favor of involving the army (35%) and of punishing more severely drug users.
