Yonglian Village is called the "Legendary Village" by many people. It was once the smallest village in Zhangjiagang City with the smallest population.
In 1978, the per capita annual income of villagers was 68 yuan, but the village collective's debt was as high as more than 60,000 yuan. From steel rolling to steelmaking, Yonggang not only ended the history of "looking for rice to make the pot", but also realized a leap from a single steel rolling mill to a combined steel enterprise.
