Since March 4, Catalonia has been distributing reusable sanitary protection free of charge to all women living in the region. In three days, 110,000 women have already requested free protection in Catalonia.
The region thus wishes to fight against menstrual poverty which affects one in five Catalan women and also reduce the 9,000 tonnes of annual waste generated by single-use protection.
