Several dead in bombing of bakery in occupied eastern Ukraine. Rescue operations are continuing.

Leonid Pasechnik, the Russian-installed governor of Luhansk, accused Kiev forces of targeting the bakery. Lysychansk had a population of some 111,000 people before the Russian offensive in Ukraine. Russian forces took control of it in the summer of 2022, as did its twin city of Severodonetsk, after one of the most brutal battles since the start of its offensive in February 2022.
