The trial of 4 adults, including the author's parents, opened today in Belgrade. The shooting at the Ribnikar school in May 2023 caused 10 deaths and 7 injuries.
The mother of the shooter, whose DNA was found on a cartridge case, is accused of illegal possession of ammunition. The other two people on the stand, the owner and instructor of a shooting club, are accused of perjury and face three years in prison. Although the accused are adults, the court decided to impose the closed session to protect the minor witnesses expected to take the stand.
