The Federation Council discussed with representatives of the Ministry of Education the possibility of making basic military training a separate subject at school. In February 2023, the work program of the course of extracurricular activities on NWP was approved - five-day gatherings for 35 hours.
According to senators and experts, the school course of the NWP should be three orders of magnitude more than 35 hours a year, said Yuri Valyaev, deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security.
