The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Dutch judicial system no longer meets the standards of fair justice. The Foreign Ministry added that Scythian gold is part of the cultural heritage of Crimea.

Russia will not leave such decisions without a reaction, the department concluded. On June 9, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands rejected the cassation appeal of the Crimean museums and decided to transfer the Scytian gold to Ukraine. The verdict of the Dutch Supreme Court sets another dangerous precedent that undermines trust between museum communities.
