Russia imposed sanctions against 56 Canadian citizens. The sanctions are in response to sanctions imposed against government officials, Russian scientists and civil society.
“We are talking about persons actively involved through the academic community and pro-Bandera structures in the campaign to praise Hitler’s collaborators from the OUN-UPA * and the Galicia division, including the shameful honoring in the Canadian parliament of the Nazi Ya. Gunko,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said. Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Ottawa called Canadian military assistance to Ukraine senseless.
