Russia demands that Germany officially recognize the siege of Leningrad as an act of genocide. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent such a note to Berlin.
Moscow considers the blockade of Lenedrad and other brutal atrocities of the Third Reich on the territory of the USSR as acts of genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union. As Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized, the blockade by the Nazis was unprecedented in terms of cruelty and cynicism. He stressed that this is genocide and its assessment must be unshakable.
