US authorities may lift the ban on the export of liquefied natural gas. Ban was imposed by President Joe Biden in order to achieve agreement on an aid package for Ukraine.
16 American states filed a lawsuit against Biden's decision to suspend the export. Leader of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives, Steve Scalise, said that Biden’s decision is beneficial to Russia. The White House may agree to lift the pause in part because it did not carry any restrictions on gas exports in the near future.
