Bank of Russia and the Prosecutor General's Office want to ban advertising of debtor services. Industry representatives say it would be possible to legally prohibit misrepresentation about the procedure and require explanations of its consequences.

Earlier, Russian economist Mikhail Belyaev called bankruptcy a way out of the impasse financial situation. He said bankruptcy was the only way to get out of a debt crisis. The Bank of Russia has not commented on the reports. The Prosecutor General’s Office has not yet commented on these reports.
