As a source in a large credit institution told RBC, banking market participants are currently discussing with the financial regulator and the Prosecutor General’s Office amendments to the law “On Advertising”, which will prohibit advertising of services to solve debt problems.

It is clarified that the reason for the possible measures is that “debtor debtors” often offer clients deliberately false ways to solve debt problems, such as bankruptcy.

This, in turn, leads to financial losses.

Industry representatives say it would be possible to legally prohibit misrepresentation about the procedure and require explanations of its consequences.

Earlier, Russian economist Mikhail Belyaev called bankruptcy a way out of the impasse financial situation.
