Qatar Energy chooses "Nakilat" to own and operate 25 liquefied gas tankers. The 25 ships - each with a capacity of 174 thousand cubic meters - will be 100% owned by Nakilat and will be leased to companies affiliated with Qatar Energy Company.
These ships are scheduled to be built in shipyards in South Korea. In 2022, Qatar Energy signed a series of long-term leasing contracts for 60 Liquefied Natural Gas tankers, concluding the first phase of its “historic and unprecedented” program.
