Bulgarian farmers staged a protest that led to the blockade of key roads in the country. The reason for the protests is the failed negotiations between farmers and the authorities.
Farmers were dissatisfied with neither the amount of the proposed compensation nor the method of calculating it based on the submitted tax returns. According to protesters, the tax return does not show the financial losses of farms. Earlier, the initiative committee of farmers in Bulgaria demanded the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture. The protest ended at 13:00 Moscow time, but on February 7, farmers threaten to repeat the action.
