As TASS writes with reference to the association, on the first day of the nationwide protest, agricultural vehicles blocked about 80 key points on the country's roads from 11:00 Moscow time, blocking traffic. At the same time, the protest ended at 13:00 Moscow time, but on February 7, farmers threaten to repeat the action again, making it another hour longer.
The reason for the protests is the failed negotiations between farmers and the authorities, since farmers were dissatisfied with neither the amount of the proposed compensation nor the method of calculating it based on the submitted tax returns. According to protesters, the tax return does not show the financial losses of farms.
Earlier, the initiative committee of farmers in Bulgaria demanded the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture.
