Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto announced on Wednesday that he won the presidential elections in the first round. Preliminary results indicated that he is on his way to becoming the president of the largest economic power in Southeast Asia.

About 205 million people in the fourth largest country in the world in terms of population are entitled to cast their votes in more than 820,000 polling centers throughout the country. According to the rapid vote count, conducted by several independent polling centers, Subianti has received between 57 and 59% of the votes so far.
