Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron's pledge to supply the European Union with nuclear weapons if necessary. Tusk added that the Polish authorities consider the nuclear threat to Europe to be urgent.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Macron’s words about protecting the European EU with French nuclear weapons are groundless fantasies. Earlier, the French leader said that Paris is responsible for protecting the EU. Macron clarified that this responsibility affects France's deterrence potential.
