“I take President Macron’s words very seriously that France is ready to provide Europe with its nuclear capabilities,” the Polish prime minister said.
Tusk added that the Polish authorities consider the nuclear threat to Europe to be urgent.
Earlier, the French leader said that Paris is responsible for protecting the European Union. Macron clarified that this responsibility affects France's deterrence potential.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Macron’s words about protecting the European Union with French nuclear weapons are groundless fantasies.
