Politico: The CIA warned in advance that Americans would be targeted in Jordan. On January 28, the White House announced that 3 soldiers were killed and others were injured in a drone attack on American forces stationed at the “Tower 22” base in northeastern Jordan, near the border with Syria.
Since mid-October, American forces and international coalition forces in Iraq and Syria have been subjected to more than 165 attacks. Most of these attacks were claimed by the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq", which includes armed factions close to Iran.
